ECO TOURISM ACTIVITIES

The Lodge arranges eco-tours, whether for a group or single guest. Our adventure manager tailors trekking, mountain bikes, cultural tours and horseback riding, all supervised by welltrained guides with full knowledge of the Shan State…a memory to cherish forever.

 

 

EXOTIC LUNCH ON THE LAKE

Dining unlike any you have ever known before: lunch on our floating restaurant on Inle Lake. We have transformed a rice carrier boat into a fully equipped restaurant. Our on-board chef prepares your gourmet lunch on the boat while you take in the magnificent scenery and enjoy exquisite dining. Truly, an experience you will never forget.

SHAN PICNIC

Far from the beaten path, Shan picnics are located in a bamboo forest glade – Indein in the shadows of exquisite Belle Époque hangings near ancient pagodas and ruins.

 

HIDDEN INTHA VILLAGE HOUSE

Enjoy a traditional meal at a wonderful authentic Intha house at an island village on Inle Lake. The village is private and therefore off-limits to regular tourist boats. Guests are welcomed into the house by the owner, who operates the production of traditional handmade cigars on the ground floor. Observe the hand-rolling procedure close-up, have a smoke if you wish. After the meal, a walk will be arranged through a luxuriant bamboo forest next to a clear water stream. The path eventually joins a small canal where our boats are waiting to take you back to your Inle journey.

 

 

 

SHAN COOKING CLASS

Your class will first visit the local market with our head chef to purchase food for a special gourmet luncheon. The chef shows you how to shop, traditional bargaining and explains the ingredients being purchased. You then return to the Viewpoint kitchen, where the chef begins the basic lessons and prepares the meal with the class. Upon conclusion, you enjoy a special aperitif in the kitchen before going to the open dining room where you will savour the scrumptious lunch you have prepared.

 

 

GREEN HOUSE

Aquaponic and biopinc soilless garden produces organic vegetables for the dining outlets: Shan Restaurant, Outside Catering and Room Service.
